I Have An '05 F350 That Is A Single Wheel, Long Wheel Base, Fx4, 6 Speed Standard With A 4" Lift And 35" Tires And Only 33,000 Miles. Seems A Little Sluggish And The Fuel Mileage Is Pretty Bad Off. I'm Sure Most Of Which Is Due To The Big Tires And The Rest Of It To The Lift. What I'm Thinking Of Doing Though, In Order To Get A Little Better Fuel Mileage And Power, Is The Mbrp 4" Turbo Back Exhaust. I Was Also Thinking Of An Afe Intake, Which I Have Already Read Isn't Worth It At All. I Was Going To Go With An Edge Juice With Attitude But It Seems Y'all Aren't A Fan Of Those Either. So What I'm Wondering Is, Besides The Exhaust, What Is A Good Route To Go To Obtain Some More Power, Better Get Up, And Better Fuel Mileage? Preferably Under $1000, But If It Takes More Then It Takes More.
If you don't have a lead foot and plan on racing all the rice burners out there. Get an SCT tuner from Innovative Diesel. Get the extreme street and you will be amazed. Even the canned tunes are a huge improvement. It will wake up the 6.0 and you will think you are in a sports car (sorta). If you have no warranty left, definitely get the egr "Removed due to rules violation"

. Oil bypass filter setup, coolant bypass filter setup, crankcase vent filter setup. Definitely get the exhaust. That is alot more than 1000, but you gain performance along with reliability and engine longevity with all those filters..

best for the buck. used sct xcalibrator 2 or 3. any sct x variety will work as long as it is for a ford and unlocked. next get some custom tunes. last straight pipe. if you want to get a exaust go 4". some gauges will help keep it together. if you are looking for mpgs i personally havent seen a huge gain from tuning. what i have seen a gain in is driving slower. there isnt really any other way. mpgs becomes a head game. for power add some tuning

SO BASICALLY, EXHAUST AND THAT SCT TUNER AND SOME GAUGES AREREALLY THE ONLY EASY THINGS TO DO? "Oil bypass filter setup, coolant bypass filter setup, crankcase vent filter setup." WHAT DOES ALL OF THIS DO? OR WHAT IS IT ALL FOR?

the ccv mod is good for getting the oil out of you intake system.
the oil filter bypass is not that great of a mod. you would be better off with a remote oil cooler as it will eliminate the problematic oil cooler setup. the coolant filter is a greeat mod that will help to eliminate the gunk in the coolant system. all of those mods are good for longivity. they will not gain you mpgs or power though. i would only buy a tuner for performance. your not going to gain much in mpgs. you will be very dissapointed in a tuner for mpg gains. power gains. the exaust will net you lower egts and more noise. mpg gains and power are not that much. i have pretty much a staight exaust and a tuner and my mpgs are with in +1-2mpgs stock.

Well My Next Question Is Then, 4" Or 5" Exhaust? This Is One I'm Struggling To Decide Over. The Only 5" Exhaust I've Ever Heard Was On A Dodge And There Was A Tremendous Difference Between 4" And 5" Noice Wise. Which, I Like Noise. My Buddy Told Me If I'm Going To Put Some Kind Of Tuner Or Programmer On It To Definitely Go 5", Y'all Agree? I'm Prolly Gonna Order The Mbrp Exhaust Next Week So I'm Looking For A Bunch Of Opinions Between Now And Then. Thanks
