Ford is able to detect Programmers!?!?

OK, here's the deal, I took my truck to two different dealers for warrenty work. Before I did, I put the "original Back-up" in the truck and even confirmed that the factory tune was installed. Both dealers told me they detected a chip or programmer in the computer. Of coarse I denied it and they still insisted something was modified. I thought the DiabloSport was undetectable if the original tune was re-installed?? DiabloSport also says it is undetectable. Well, it was detected both times at two different dealers. Again, the orginal tune was put back in before it went in the shop. What's up with that? I want my money back!! Ford was even talking about voiding my warrenty!! My truck is brand new!! Did you clear out the DTC's PO603 + P1000 before you brought it in?

Re: Ford is able to detect Programmers!?!?

Well over on another forum I was told to put in the stock tune and reinstall a tune and then the stock again without starting the engine after installing the stock tune the first time. Clear any codes with the programmer if there are any and to be safe drive for about a week befor taking it in. I did and nothing was said to me at the dealer.

Re: Ford is able to detect Programmers!?!?

They may be testing you. If they really did have proof, they would tell you what they are seeing. Diabosport is right, from all the testing done by all the different tuning companies, there is no traces left behind.

It seems to me that if they do void your warranty then you could sue Diablo Sport for false advertising.......or any other company that make these claims.....

Just my $.02

Just curious what kind of warranty work you went in for.
What extremes Ford seems to be willing to go to deny warranty claims confuses me.
Buy a truck and then have a problem they seem to bend over backwards to deny your warranty and perhaps this is because of all the problems with the launch of the 6.0.
I had a problem when I ordered my truck with Ford not honoring the original quote. I usually trade up every 18 to 24 months but I holding off this time.

I found the word of the Ford rep's to be worthless.
When Ford starts being truthful to me I'll buy another truck. If not I'll look elsewhere.

Re: Ford is able to detect Programmers!?!?

Are you sure you reinstalled the stock tune? There is the tune that is just like stock but not. I forgot which way to get to it but I installed it thinking it was the stock tune but it wasn't. You will know if you try to reinstall the Predator and it won't reinstall. That would show up as a huge red flag if done that way.

ncc386;

First off,
Welcome.
Second, the M&M warranty thing has been discussed very often here. Ford just says no and if you disagree you are the one who will have to prove they are wrong.
Reguardless of what the M&M says.
And I have never heard yet of one aftermarket manufactuer backing up there products.
