Ford Gold Security/remote start system question

This system was installed aftermarket by authorized Ford installers. When first installed, I could leave my truck running and by taking the key fob remote with me, I could lock the doors remotely with the engine running. I can no longer do this. Is this something that can be fixed? I can do the hit the remote start with the engine running and take the key out and lock the doors trick ok.Any help would be appreciated. 2003SC

Re: Ford Gold Security/remote start system question

To do that you are supposed to hit the remote start button first, then pull keys, lock and leave. It then shuts off at whatever you have the remote start interval set at: 10 or 15 minutes. I forget what the manual calls is, something like "Quick Stop" feature. Either way, you should NOT be able to just pull the keys and leave it running.

Re: Ford Gold Security/remote start system question

I have the gold remote system. To use the "quick stop" feature, you hit the lock button, then the start button, then the horn chirps. You then remove the key and you have the option to lock the doors. Sounds like you need to have it checked out if it is'nt doing this.

Re: Ford Gold Security/remote start system question

For the 2005 units it is called the PowerCode - Remote Start, Keyless Entry, Vehicle Security. Ford part number is 2W7Z-19G364-AA. MSRP is $272.70 from Fords accessory web site.

Hope this helps.

Bill
