Hi everyone,
I'm buying a 2007 E350 cutaway van that used to be an ambulance. It has 117K on the clock and runs great. I spoke with the fleet shop that serviced it and they said they are strict on their maintenance. They also said an oil pump was replaced at one time, but did not know if it was the LPOP or HPOP. Also, a nearby Ford dealer replaced the FICM.
I'm going to pull the engine in the near future to go in another E350.
While I have it out and in addition to doing some bulletproofing, I'd like to tear it down and replace the gaskets and bearings, and clean the block of Ford Gold coolant.
Would this be feasible?
I have successfully overhauled older Ford gasoline V8's, but never a diesel. As I am not familiar with overhaul procedures of a diesel, I am scared that I am going to do something wrong.
