Re: Fuel Filters!!!????

National Fleet Parts. Best average prices for air/fuel/oil.

Check out: http://www.nationalfleetparts.com/6_0l.asp

I hven't ordered any yet, but I have checked a couple of other places. NFP was higher on one item but llower on the other 2. There is an outfit in texas that has really good prices on Stanadyne. I'll be getting mine from there after I get through the case I bought locally.

Re: Fuel Filters!!!????

Had to remember which favorite it was:

http://www.dieselpage.com/menupro.htm

These guys sell filters too. they were cheaper on I IIRC the fuel set, but a (very) little higher on the air/oil. I know some of the guys here that live in Texas, use the place.

Re: Fuel Filters!!!????

Draining the main filter on the frame is a disaster and I would pay that for someone else to do it.

Re: Fuel Filters!!!????

It's actually pretty easy. Loosen the drain plug on the water seperator and let it drain, then just twist the filter cap off using a 36mm socket. First time I did it, I didn't have the socket. Went out and got the socket!!!!

Re: Fuel Filters!!!????

Like an idiot the first time I forgot that I was supposed to drain it first then I only had a filter wrench / plier to take it off. Needless to say I got wet! Live and learn. A vertical filter would have been nicer from the Ford boys.

Re: Fuel Filters!!!????

This is the cheapest I've found. Order a set in January. Best way is to call since they do not have a secure website to use credit card.
