Gauge Reading Questions

I just installed a set of gauges, and I am wondering if the Tranny Temp gauge is working right?

I can start it up in the morning, and start down the road to work. The stock gauge will be at running temp before the new Isspro even comes off of 100 degrees. Later down the road....Maybe 5-8 miles....Then the new gauge goes right on up to about 160-170.
Why does it take so long for the new gauge to get a reading? OR is the stock gauge that generic?

ALSO.....The EGT gauge seems to read lower than the old Attitude monitor used to. I am using the same Thermocoupler from the edge.

With the EGT's......I am wondering if they read lower because the EDGE is NO LONGER HOOKED UP? It seems not to build EGT temp as fast as when it was hooked up.
Thanks
John
