Head Studs

Will Arp Head studs elimnate all of my problems of blowing head gaskets on the 6.0? I have read many post of ppl putting them on but with the studs will I not have to worry about it again. The tech that is working on my truck at ford said the studs wouldnt help anything however the service writer said they would install free of charge. I know I have posted earlier asking about them but I dont think I have gotten the answer I am looking for. I wanting to know will it elimnate my problem. How many PSI of boost can you push without worrying about lefting the heads with the studs. I am wanting to go with a SCT tuner. Can anyone please advise me and tell me their opinion. Thanks inadvance GUYS!!

Re: Head Studs

well from my understanding a stock 6.0 with a sct, intake, and exhaust will only make about 30-35psi tops and the arps will hold no problem up into the 40-50 psi range maybe more...im sure someone knows the exacts

When you did this, did you simply just put the studs in, or replace gaskets and do the whole deal? Cab-off?

Re: Head Studs

I wish I had the resources/down time to do this! My only option as I see it is wait for the gaskets to blow and hope by some miracle my dealer would install them for me.

What are the costs to have a cab-off Stud/HG installation pre-emptively? Does it cost any less than waiting for the HG to blow?

Thanks,

Rou

The cost to do it pre-emtively... probably around $2500 in labor without the price of the studs. Waiting for the HG to blow, hopefully it'll still be under warranty? Hopefully me dealer will do it? Probably not... I'm working on finding someone in the central NY area to do this for me NOW!

If you can afford the 2500+ for labor, do the ARP studs. We have a good price on them, send me a PM if interested.

There is no number to put down on this... some guys have stock gaskets blow with stock tuning and not beating on their trucks... others have them tuned and they seem OK, but I think it's safe to say that with a tuned truck, they will eventually give out.
