Headers

Does anyone know of some good suppliers of headers for the 6 liter? I have heard that the EGT's drop immensely amongst a host of other benefits from the headers. Thanx in advance.

Re: Headers

I've seen some on elite's website. I'm not sure if they have coated them or not.

Re: Headers

I was always curious why there aren't more threads here about Diesel Headers... They go hand in hand with just about any exhaust mods you do on Gas Engines but very seldom even mentioned in the Diesel forums... If you look at them on our 6.0's, they look pretty restrictive too...

Re: Headers

I remember a while back seeing pics of headers made up for the 7.3L (powerstroke) but this would be the first I have heard of headers for the 6.0L Doesn't seem like much room in the engine bay for even some proper short tube type headers. I remember some people making them for the 6.9L as well but they were like gasser long tubes and nearly eliminated the possibility of adding a turbo. I would be curious to see these and what effects they would have on the exhaust gasses. I am not an automotive engineer by an means but I do remember you want to keep the gasses hot pre turbo as the hot expanded gasses will have a higher velocity and thus spin the turbo quicker, however I could also see a benefit if you could lower the EGT's enough to dump in more fuel, I guess it would be a trade off on which would work better.
