How to remove the back of the mirror

OK, I admit. I broke one of those lights on my mirrors.

I bought a new back for the mirror (of course you knew you couldn't just replace the lense didn't you !!!), but I cannot figure out how the old one comes off. I don't just want to pull on it because I figure it'll break some stupid tab the new one needs.

Please help. Thanks.

Re: How to remove the back of the mirror

I hope this helps.

Removal and Installation

Tilt the exterior mirror glass away from each of the four corners one at a time, and insert a flat-blade screwdriver into the clip slot and release the clip while exerting finger pressure on the exterior mirror cover.

The small overlap ledge between the case front and the case rear can be used to prevent the clip from returning to the clipped position.

Remove the exterior mirror cover.
Disconnect the turn signal module electrical connector.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
