Just installed DPPI Exhaust turbo back, now my 6.0 has a vibration now what do I do?????
I just had the DPPI exhaust installed yesterday, and was driving it home from the shop I noticed a terrible vibration that started in the gas pedal and shakes the whole cab at higher speeds. It almost sounds like a tire rub, but I know it is not that. I even got out to look and see if something had fallen off or was dragging. Anyone have any ideas on what to look for. I am going to take it back to the shop on Monday, but if anyone has had the same experience, I would like to know what solved the problem. This is not something I can live with it is really bad..Thanx All MIKE

Are you sure the downpipe is attached properly to the turbo?? I think I recall the drone some are experiencing with their stock exhaust being attributed to the downpipe somehow. It might be possible that yours is also in the downpipe.

Re: Just installed DPPI Exhaust turbo back, now my 6.0 has a vibration now what do I do?????
Your system is coming in contact with either the firewall or a frame rail. Somewhere,it's touching, and it can't...
Get under it and look, you'll find the problem.
Re: Just installed DPPI Exhaust turbo back, now my 6.0 has a vibration now what do I do?????
After I installed mine I had a vibiration from time to time.
I loosened the turbo clamp and the next two clamps down on the downpipe and just kind of moved it around until I found the spot where I had the most clearance. Tightened everything back up and I haven't had any virbration since.
Re: Just installed DPPI Exhaust turbo back, now my 6.0 has a vibration now what do I do?????
Mike,
GeorgeC is correct, somewhere (most likley the down pipe) the system is on the trucks frame and or engine or both. The 6.0 system is a two piece down pipe and the odds are they loosely installed it and then didn't check out all the pipes before they tightened everything for the final time. They should correct it for you and if not you will need to get under the truck and start at the front and use a flashlight if necessary to see where it's contacting the engine and or frame or both. Hopefully they will be good and take cre of you, and hopefully they didn't go Gorilla crazy with the clamps when tightening it up, it could make it tough to get it to move now if they did. Call us if we can help you in any way we will if we can.

Mike,
Glad you found the problem, don't you just hate to pay someone to do an installation and have to finish it correctly yourself, kind of like insult to injury isn't it!
