Low fuel pressure

Does anybody know why my truck gets a engine light on due to low fuel pressure when i run the highest setting on my truck? This has only happened twice and its only been when i am going about 65-70mph. It usually happens after about 45 min. I take it off the performance setting and put it on economy then after starting it back up again the light is off and runs just fine. It never seemed like it had low pressure in the first place but it said it did. Any clue?

Re: Low fuel pressure

After reading a couple of other posts, I'm going to guess your HPOP is having trouble keeping up with the fuel demand.

You may need a second HPOP to keep enough oil firing the injectors.

Search for "big oil"

Re: Low fuel pressure

You may also want to consider some fuel improvements to ensure sufficient flow to meet the demand. I am surprised there is anything on your truck that is reading/reporting fuel pressure.
