Muffler Delete Pipe

I was wondering the negative and positive implications of going with a muffler delete pipe on the 6.0 and if the sound was worth it? If so, who carries this pipe?

Negative results: Neighbors hate you in the morning....

Positive results: Increased turbo whistle, throaty exhaust sound on hard acceleration, increased street cred.....

I appreciate the reply, Looks like the positives outweigh the negatives. I reckon the livestock will learn to get used to it. But I was wondering if you knew of anywhere online to order it? The only one I have found has been $100 with shipping and I find it hard to believe that is how much a short piece of pipe should cost.

Seems as the demand for 3.5" exhaust pipe isn't all that high so the local shops can't even bend that size. I'd ask locally first if anyone can get the pipe or at least bend it for you if you provide the materials. After that I guess you need to order the pipe for $100.

I got mine from the diesel site for 90.00. I had to have mine welded into place at a local shop. The pipe was too short to go over the existing pipe to allow the use of clamps. It does give a nice roar when accelarating at idle you can hear the turbo cycling until the egr valve cuts in then there is just a low rumble. The noise in the cab is not a problem and yes the turbo whine is much pronounced.

depends if you have an exhaust system or not. if you do companies like MBRP carry muffler deletes. if not you could always sawzaw your muffler out and weld in a straight piece of piping!

Thanks for the input, one last question I found a company in Iowa that says they have a stock muffler delete pipe for the '05 for just $69 and they aren't sure if it will fit the 07. I am almost positive they are the same but I haven't had time to check but is the exhaust systems on the '05's the exact same as the '07's?

I wouldn't think the exhaust changed that much between years. Is their pipe stainless steel?

The pipe they have is aluminized, do you think going with SS would be better than aluminized?

For your location I'd say not to worry about it. I'd just keep an eye on it if you are near the coast line.

As long as you are going to spend the time to go to all the trouble, I would just replace the whole exhaust from the turbo back for a couple hundred and use ss. Just me. I am sure the mufler delete works just fine also though.

Not T409 or T304 SS kits. Maybe some upstart company trying to get in the game? I have found piping but can't find an exhaust shop that has the ability to mendral bend 3-4" piping.
