"If everyone with a SCT jumped off a bridge would you"? ummmmm Yahhhhhhhhh!
I just got off the phone with bill @ dfuser and my programmer will be shipped out today!
Got some custom tunes coming: Street, Agressive tow, Economy.
I hope this is everything everone else says it is!! I'm ditching the Flashpaq 1805.
Off to the dealership to adjust my speedo this afternoon! Finally found one that can do it.

Just curious--what did you not like about the flashpaq?
thanks,

Thanks for the info--I'm still on the fence about upgrading from my flashpaq. Do you know if there are actual HP/Torque curves that show the SCT making more power than the flashpaq at lower revs? I have noticed with the flashpaq that you get all the power at once. Also, how does the SCT control the EGR valve?
dave

Once youv'e had a chance to drive it some, let us know what your opinion is of the SCT, tunes and performance gains both HP/torque and mileage if any... I've been 'on the fence' with getting an SCT for years now but have had some major engine issues that are keeping me on the fence... But, I have been driving my SD more lately because I can't drive my CLK on the snow covered mountain roads where we live and the extremely poor MPG and cost of diesel is killing me financially... If an SCT will give me a decent boost in MPG's, I'd consider getting one again... I never planned to use my SD as a daily driver but it's become one since I can't drive my car at the moment and my wife's lease is over on mileage..

Got my SCT today and absolutely love it!
Here is the things I noticed right off:
I'm running DFuser's "Street" tune=100hp.
NO SMOKE at ALLl!
Engine runs QUIETER and SMOOTHER than with the Flashpaq
EGT's a MUCH lower driving around, I have to be going up an incline to even hit 850. For some reason cool down time seems noticably faster
Easier to load progam, Xcal 3 is nice and light and fits right under my seat with the owners manual
Turbo lag is damn near gone!
SHIFTING IS AWESOME!! once the computer relearns its shifts perfect
It trully feels like a different truck! DO NOT wait like I did! If you are on the fence about the SCT and don't want to go too aggresive, get the XCal with a Street tune!
Truck has never ran so good! So far the lie o meter show 3 MPG better.

and to think you didn't wanna get one until they adjsuted the speedometer!! haha I suggest you try out the performance tune, great for around town driving if there is no rain! congrats man and glad you saw the light unlike some guys. I mean, if you're gonna do power you might as well do it RIGHT.
I defiantly agree with the tune from Dfuser. I recently switched from the 1704 tuner to the xcal2 and WOW. Tranny shifts much nicer and power is from a dead stop not like it used to be which was you had to get rolling before you felt anything.

I wouldn't buy any tuner/programmer strictly for MPG increase, because more than likely you will be disappointed. I didn't notice one ounce of better mileage on my truck. I am VERY happy with the power and shifting though and dont regret my purchase, but don't buy it just for better economy.
i just installed mine about 3 weeks ago,i ordered it from innovative diesel.i installed the extreme street tune and this thing rips....oh yeah i went on a trip with it installed and picked up almost 4mpg

you'll love the truck with the new tunes.........and your tires will hate you!
This almost worries me, my tires with my bone stock truck already hate me Just hoping I can let em last through winter before I NEED to get new ones lol. Or better yet they last till I get an SCT then I can finish em off right

I've had the back end break loose at 45mph a few times in the slick, was a little weird the first time. Just couldn't believe it could do that. You guys are making me want an SCT now even more.

With Xtreme street and stock rubber, I had my tires breaking loose at 60-70mph in the rain.... actually I wont even run the Xtreme file in the rain anymore for safety reasons.
Whats the difference between these two? I am getting ready to order from dfuser, need to know the difference. I am currently thinking tow, street and performance

I hear 'ya on that, but... I'm currenty only b*tching about MPG's because Diesel is costing me $3.43 a gallon and I'm burning it up faster than I could pour it on the ground... However, during non-winter months, I use the truck sparingly for hauling camping gear for fishing/hunting trips, ATV's, etc... Those months when I'm not daily driving the SD I'd love to have more power ( I live and drive at high elevation and lose alot of power)... An MPG's increase would be a nice bonus if these tuners produced the kind of useable power I read about... I'm just gun shy because of all the problems these trucks have before you even consider the extra stresses put on them by tuners...

Glad to hear it and thanks for posting your impressions... It's nice to see someone actually be satisfied with the outcome from an expensive mod as this isn't always the case in my experience... Nothing worse than spending time and money on something that causes you more headaches and more money down the road... Kind of like our trucks themselves, eh...?
From what I've been reading over the years, the SCT seems to be a good product.
