Upgrades and Aftermarket - 6.0L EngineUpgrading and adding aftermarket equipment to your 2003-Up Super Duty or Excursion with 6.0L Power Stroke diesel engine. Please confine discussion of topics in this forum to those items that are specific to the 6.0L Power Stroke engine.
And no Im not trying to stay 7.3Ls are better....juts wanting to ses how many people have reached that goal. I do realize that most of the 6.0L's are still darn near under warranty and that could be a resoning and Im ure ALOT of 6.0 owners are still paing for them.
BUT with that disclaimer LET SEE SOME NUMBERS--the 6L's are getting old enough to get "BOMBED" with the release of a new engine(6.4)
I dont pay alot of attention upstairs but im just curious.

When you say 500hp, are you talking Rear Wheel Horsepower or Flywheel Horsepower?
If you are talking flywheel there are lots of them around...anybody using SCT tuned with extreme race, Looney, crap your pants or whatever else they want to call their highest tunes. Those are around 475 RWHP. It is generally understood that there is about 18% loss thru the drive train from flywheel to rear wheels. That said 475RWHP would be a 540 flywheel HP truck.
If you are talking RWHP then it narrows the field greatly as injectors and other power enhancers would need to be used.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but that is the way I understand it.

Yes I mean to the ground...unless you have your engine on a engine dyno testing cell.

The boys at elite have some, but I think they are just over the 500 mark.

Hell...it's a long list....anyone running 190cc injectors or larger is basically there. There's a ton of trucks out there with injectors...just not all of em have a big mouth like I do. LOL
Now that some real turbos are finally on the near horizon...there should be some 6.0's out there with some fairly large #2 only numbers fairly soon.
Oh yea...I've not seen a 475 rwhp SCT tune...425ish is more like it...give or take a few HP.
