If the mechanic "thought" it had something, but couldn't tell, RUN......to the next dealer down the road.

Re: pretty simple question from a new 6.0 driver!

oh, you should definitely know if it has a chip in it. even in like a 60hp, its very noticeable over stock. why dont you just go test drive a new one and see how it feels compared to yours???

i agree, if your mechanic cant tell if it has a chip in it, he really doesnt need to be a mechanic...

Re: pretty simple question from a new 6.0 driver!

If it has a chip/module, he'd be able to show it to you pluged into the PCM and/or FICM. If it's a programmer, they should be able to scan and see whether it has the OEM files or not.

What about getting the previous owner to confirm? The dealer has access and I would think, responsibility, to do that.
