Propane

Looking for some feedback on the various propane injection systems on the market. I'm not looking to drag race the 1/4 mile or interested in huge power gains. I'm lookin g at this from a fuel efficency prospective and low-end power increase. I'm also interested in any long term effects on the engine.
Current rig is a 05 F350 6.0L w/Manual trans. My summer time milage is in the ball park of 20 to 23 and winter is around 19. I'm looking for more response from the bottom end with out going to extremes.

Re: Propane

I have our propane kit and it works real well on my 6.0L. Nice power increase without a tuner or chip and my mileage picked up at least 2 mpg.

Re: Propane

There's Powershot 2000 and there's the vaporizer systems like MSD, ATS, Bullydog, etc. If you're looking for efficiency, safety and legality over long term use consider the vaporizer systems.

Re: Propane

I have a question aboutyour fuel mileage? How is it so high? Mine averages between 13 to 14.9 MPGS. I barely have 14500 miles on it and it is a brand new 2005 F250 PSD

Re: Propane

I have talked to a lot of folks with the 5 speed auto that get about the same milage as your getting.

Mine, I drive it like a truck. Not in a hurry run the RPMs to 1900 or so and shift. Stay under 70 MPH. Towing 6-9K trailers I get around 14 MPG. Drive the same way. I have a Hi flow filter (K&N) but other than that it's just smooth driving. The more the turbo spools up the more fuel you use.

Never been back to the dealer to re-flash my computer and had no problems.

Good truck.

Re: Propane

I get 18.6, but mines a 2WD CC..

Look at the MSDS kits or the PS2000, I would stay away from the Bully Dog kit.

Re: Propane

DRWB,

Check the MSD systems out, they have all the safety features combined that the other systems have some of but not all of. It has it's own ECU that allows you to down load to a lap top and make varoius control changes to make it operate how you want it to vs a pre set operation etc. It's not the cheapest but we think it's the best and safest available. If you have any questiosn just call.
