Finally got me pyrometer installed. It's funny when you go into a project thinking 1 part of the project is going to be harder than the other then it completely reverses on you. I figured drilling the exhaust manifold, tapping and inserting the probe would be the most difficult part. I was wrong. Trying to find the right electrical connections took the longest. Never did find the right wire for the dimmer. I just hooked it up to the headlight switch. I followed the directions of the Diesel Manor website and the wires they suggested either didn't have current running thru them or were non existent. Anyone else have this problem. Anyways, it's hooked up and working.

All you need is a test light, start poking into the wires on the headlight switch. Brown is the park light wire, which I usually use. If you want the gauge lights to dim as well, just poke around while rolling the dimmer wheel and find the right wire....

I got my gauge setup from them and their directions were right on for the most part. Only issue I had was on the fuel pressure housing. I had to mess with the head of the fitting because it was hitting on the filter housing when it started to get tight, took about 5 min to fix. Other than that ,I loved it...Sorry to hear your issues... What wire did your directions have you going through? I can try and find my old directions or go out to my truck and see how I hooked mine up.
What gauges/set up did you go with?

where exactly did you mount the probe? i have a gauge ready to install but im just not sure where to mount it. the instructions that came with it say to mount it in the turbine outlet. and now thats said which location is better and more accurate for egt readings. i looked on here all over but have not found anything.
Sounds like your directions are wanting a post turbo install. In my opinion and others on this site it's just not accurate enough. I put mine pre turbo in the exhaust manifold.Mine was a drill and tap method. Just crawl under the driver side look up and you'll see the exhaust manifold. You want to be toward the back to cylinders. Just start drilling. Start with a smaller bit and work your way up to the one you need. Does your probe have a clamp or does it thread in? Look up Dieselmanor.com they have a good write up on how to install a egt gauge.
