Quad module.............Best location to mount inside cab?

I have the 30-60-110 Quad module, and I am trying to find the best place to mount the box so I can see the LED light. For those who have this module,.......where do you have it mounted?

Under the dash - I don't really need to see the LED unless there was a problem.

Re: Quad module.............Best location to mount inside cab?

Yeah,..that is where I have it mounted right now. Actually, it is right next to the fuse box. But, it would be nice to see the LED for a quick reference to see what level you are in, and also to see if everything it working properly on startup ( the module check sequence).

Re: Quad module.............Best location to mount inside cab?

I have mine under dash but u can see the light glancing down under the steering wheel from that small space that is there. I have only used settings 30 and 60 and my egt runs alot cooler and gas milage is better 1 to 2 mpg depending on how I drive in town and highway is averaging 21-22 mpg up from about 18 mpg. With the power it has I dont need to use the highest setting.

Get the new lighted switch and you won't have to worry about the built in LED.

Re: Quad module.............Best location to mount inside cab?

Thanks.............I didn't realize there was a lighted switch for these modules. I'm going to try and relocated it first, and if that doesn't work, I will call Quad and get the lighted switch. Anyone know the price for this switch?

He told me months ago he was coming out with a new switch - have never seen any mention of it on the website - guess I'll have to call also.

Actually Quad sent me an email several months ago and said he was working on a different switch. My first switch went bad - (truck would shut off when switching) - so I have been waiting for the new one to come out.

Re: Quad module.............Best location to mount inside cab?

Well I have seen them, and I might have a few but hopefully they are being shipped. With work the way it is now I don't have as much time to play anymore.

Re: Quad module.............Best location to mount inside cab?

Quad emailed me yesterday and said they will probably have the new switches available after the first of the year.

Re: Quad module.............Best location to mount inside cab?

Let me clear this up so it is easy to understand.

The new switches are out and are being shipped with current product. The LED portion is not available at this time. The company that builds the LED lense and the cup has us on backorder.

The LED portion will be an additional cost, but not much.

The LED will only display the power level you are in. It will not show the startup sequence or the warm up sequence. That is embedded into the PCB.

The new switch is very distinguished from the old switch so it will be easy to tell if you have the new or old switch.

The new switch is mounted on a small pcb. The first versions were on a green board and the current version is on a black board. You will have a cable with a small flat connector on one end that goes to the board and the other end will have a small square 4 pin connector. The flat connector goes to the connector on the pcb.

On the pcb there is an 8 pin connector. Your switch should come connected from us. If you disconnect it there should be adequate markings on the pcb as to which terminals you need to connect the switch part to. The other end of the terminals is used for the LED. When the LEDs ship you will be able to add it to the new switch if you want to.

Hope that helps.

Quad

Any chance of getting a picture of it before I try to order one?
