calling to place the initial order for the tuner is the best way to get things going and have the hardware on it's way...once you have the X3, e-mail is the only way to go as that's how they get the custom tunes back to you...ID needs to know the programming strategy of your truck so they get you the files which work best with your PCM calibration..
So it goes like this..
call ID and order..
while waiting for the tuner to show,
DL the device software from the SCT site..this is what allows your PC to work with the SCT to get the tunes from e-mail to the device..while you're there browse the
FAQ and
user's manual..
SCT shows up and you use it to get the PCM strategy from the truck..
e-mail that code to Eric and he'll reply with your tunes..
load them to the SCT, load them into the truck, and have fun!!
there are a whole lot of people that run the Xtreme files as daily driver tunes without issue...i've read nothing but great things about Eric's tunes..They're the only one's i've run and can't complain one bit..i did have headstuds installed this past month, but that wasn't because i broke anything..they were just the next step for me..keep reading around here and come to your own conclusion...it's your truck..
the X3 will hold 3 "canned" tunes from SCT(which you'll probably never use) and 3 custom tunes..you can store all the tunes you want on your PC...it only takes a few minutes to get them onto the SCT once you're familiar with it..
