Re: questions on 6.0 upgrades? help!

xcal2 is the SCT that youll read a lot about if you do some research here. its a programmer that is capable of controlling nearly every parameter on your truck. not only does it make more and safer horsepower than a piggyback, but its also cheaper. there are a number of vendors selling SCTs, all of which can make good safe HP while controlling the trans. i sent you a PM regarding my suggestion of vendors. ive run "race" files from 3 different vendors, and the one im running now is NIGHT and DAY. you really cant go wrong with any of the vendors though.

as for exhaust, it depends what you want. youll want turbo back stainless regardless to get the full benefits of the exhaust. it looks better, withstands abuse better, and keeps heat inside the pipe to increase exhaust gas velocity. if you want a quiet single exhaust, id recommend magnaflow. a louder single exhaust, an MBRP system is good. if you want the loudest single, buy a magnaflow kit and replace with muffler with straight pipe. you can convert any kit to straight, but magnaflow is the cheapest and easiest since the cat is already gone. if you want duals, magnaflow will be quieter than the MBRP systems, and MBRP will be quieter than straight pipe.

heres a clip of my straight pipe to give you an idea of sound:

Re: questions on 6.0 upgrades? help!

that was with a stock tune. with stock tune, you can barely hear the truck. with an extra 250-300rwhp, its quite a bit louder and noticeable in the cab...

Re: questions on 6.0 upgrades? help!

I second what Mikey said.... MBRP Straight Pipe and XCal2 for me. I have ran a couple of different tunes and believe I am running a step or two behind Mikey but you will be happy with any of the major players...
