Remote starter problems

I recently had a remote start installed on my 2003 F-250 6.0L I have the Edge Platinum Juice with attitude in it as well, and when i start my truck with the remote it wont power up the module. But if i use my key it works just fine. Edge told me there was nothing I could do about it but Huckstorf Diesel seems to think otherwise and reffered me here to ask some diesel buffs. Any answers?

With the remote start, it powers only one or two accessory wires. When you remote start it, then put the key in to drive it, does it come on?
Your edge is probably connected to an accessory circuit that doesn't power up during the remote start cycle.

Lets see if I got this right.... It will remote start. Your edge display will not light up until you get in and turn the key after it is remote started?
If that is the case, you need to find which circuit your edge is wired in to so you can have the remote starter turn it on. You will have to wire that in. On my remote starter, I wired all the accessory feeds to come on during the start process. That is what it sounds like to me...

No if I remote start the truck it the edge doesnt turn on at all. But if I just use the key and not the remote start it works fine. I don't know a lot about wiring could you please explain the process of getting it to power up? Thanks

When you remote start the truck, does everything else work as normal (before you put the key in and turn it to the on position to override the remote start).

Which remote start do you have installed?? Lets start there..

Yeah when I use the remote start everything works fine except the edge. The heat and everything else, even after i put the key in and go everything is fine. I have the ultra start with feedback installed. I talked to a guy from huckstorf diesel and he said the edge is wired into the fuse panel, so I dont know if theres a relay or fuse for the ignition that would tell the edge to power up, or if there is a wire that runs to the ignition from the fuse panel. But if that was the case the edge should power up with the remote start.

Under the dash at the ignition, there are the accessory wires that send power to different areas of the fusebox to power certain things. Some remote starts only allow for 1 or 2 accessory wires to be powered up while in "remote start mode". If your edge is wired with an "add a circuit" push in type fused connection, try moving it to something that you know is working when the remote start is on.

No i tryed that to leaving the key in and remote starting it but got nothing, the only way the edge works is if I use the key. Ill try looking at the wires and see what I can do, or take it to huckstorf, I dont wanna blow anything.

it sounds to me like you have the edge wired up to a dead fuse when u use the remote start. ive got a clifford remote start system on my truck and if i remote start my truck the only thing that will come on is the radio and the ac. for some reason nothing else will come on (headlights included)

But when you put the key in and turn it to the run position, everything works. His edge is not firing up. Maybe the edge has to be powered up before the truck starts (in accessory) otherwise it won't powerup.

Here is what you do... remote start your truck and see what all works. find a fuse to something that is working and tap your edge power into that fuse. you should be golden then..
