SCT Extreme with Torque Converter Lockup

Anyone with a stock tranny using the SCT Extreme with converter lockup? How many miles? Hows the shifting? Is it safe or should I upgrade soon?
Thanks

Re: SCT Extreme with Torque Converter Lockup

I am, 47K miles and its been down the track a few times. The TC lock makes it shift pretty firm, but its not bad for it.

Re: SCT Extreme with Torque Converter Lockup

I am running a TC lock most of the time on mine. Just riding around I started using DJ's full blown race tune. If I am towing I tune it down some, but the race tune seems to be fine on the street...except for when it rains!

Yeah, DJ makes one bad tune. He calls it the "Looney tune". That man knows his stuff. Innovative, GOGOdiesel, Biava and the like all make really great tunes. Its awesome to have so many making great files.

Re: SCT Extreme with Torque Converter Lockup

I have not ran ID's race tune, but I do have their Extreme Street tune. It's comparable with DJ's street tune, but not as driveable. I know DJ's race tune blows the Extreme Street away. I would like to try out the ID race tune, but don't really want to drop $100 to do it...if ya know what I mean

What do you mean by not as drivable. I have ID Xtreme Race, much more powerful than my street file, I use this file as my daily driver and respect the power. You can feel the engage of the torque converter locking in, is that what you are talking about.

Re: SCT Extreme with Torque Converter Lockup

I mean that when I put in DJ’s street tune unless you give it WOT it drives completely like it’s stock. When you give it the throttle it GOES! The ID Extreme Street I have has the TC lock and I don’t like the way it drives as much. It just seems like it wants to put the power down when I don’t want it to be there.

Don’t get me wrong, if I never would have tried DJ’s tunes I wouldn’t know any better, but after trying his I see the difference in how they drive, and I am sticking with his.

Smacked my head on the windshield??

Can’t remember that I have ever done that. First time I used DJ’s race tune my wife was sitting in the back seat and almost put her head through the back window.
