does anyone know why i can't get my livewire to connect to my computer? My mothers laptop was the first computer i ever used for my livewire and it works everytime. Any other computer doesn't matter which make or model it never works! It never connects. Maybe im missing something. I have downloaded all the software for it and updates and drivers but i can't get it to work. Basically what i do is delete all livewire updates and drivers including the updater... then go back and download all the updates, drivers and the livewire updater and when i go to load tunes it wont connect my livewire. Its unlocked and ive tried 4 different usb ports. I guess im forgetting something here. If anyone could help i would really really appreciate it. I just had a tune sent to me and i can't get it loaded cause it wont connect haha! Hopefully someone can help me! Thanks in advanvce guys!

nobody huh? 40 people and nothing? Ha! Crazy! Well im still in need and i can't get sct on the phone for anything. I waited for 30 min 3 times yesterday and about an hour today. NOTHING! Again if anyone can help me i will greatly appreciate it!

I'd call a bunch of tuners. matt, dj, gogo, innovative, or even sct. that's weird that it doesn't work. im no computer guru.

Sure, you can always shoot me an email.

It sounds like a driver issue on the PC, so try this out.

1. Plug in the Livewire.
2. Right Click "My Computer" and choose properties. Go to the Hardware Tab and click Device Manager.
3. Go to USB Controllers, expand it and look for SCT Device.
4. Right click and remove it.
5. Unplug the Livewire.
6. Reboot the PC.
7. Plug the Livewire back in and reinstall the latest drivers from the SCT website. http://www.sctflash.com/downloads.php

If that doesn't work just right click the SCT Device under USB Controllers and pick update driver and then choose the latest driver from SCT.

Hope that helps.

You need to download the livewire driver first, it seems your system mayhave attached a generic Windows USB driver. When you go into the Device Manager and see if you have an "!" next to that driver.

ok thanks guys for all the replies. Ill try everything i can to get it to work. It said something earlier about it wasn't able to recognize it on the usb port or something im gonna give it another try tomorrow! Thanks again and DFUSER if i have any problems i will give you a call!

didnt think that it would be that easy! All i needed was a little help! I was going to wait until the morning but the only thing i had not checked was in other devices and it had a "!" by it so i just reinstalled the driver and bam! Thanks Everyone for the help!
