Hi all,
Just wanted to know if the SCT programmer trans program works as well as thay say. I have the Quad 160 and was trying to better the
shifting some, not that it shifts badly, just would like to make it better. Also, how's there max-power program? Any input would be greatly appreciated!!! [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]
The SCT Xcalibrator does change the tranmission file for improved shifting. I am running the Quad 125 and was going to try it but I think I will wait for Quad to come out with his transmission controller.
Out of all of the programmers I have narrowed my search down to SuperChips and SCT. Both of these two programmers have received excellent feedback on this site mostly due to the programmers addressing the shifting issues you end up with by adding more power.
I spoke to the folks at Innovative Diesel and they are very responsive and do a great job explaining their product. Considering the price is roughly the same for SuperChips and SCT, I really think I am going to go the SCT route, due to the customization you have available to you (and they can email you updates you can apply without sending the unit in!!) I have the microtuner and the shifting is good except when the tranny is cold, if you accelerate rapidly within the 1st couple miles while cold the first couple gears hit hard, as long as you take it easy til it warms up after that it shifts great.

I have both the Superchips 1704 version 5.03 and the SCT sitting on my work bench. The SCT has a totally different shifting program than the SC1704. I greatly favor the shifting of the SC1704 over the SCT as it sits right now. I am not knocking the SCT but the new SC1704 is the most refined shifting tuner I have used.

You can stack any of the flashers with any Module. However, it's not recommended unless you know what each device is doing. It can get a little crazy with both devices manipulating the data and signals. I'd recommend one or the other...or at least one device controlling one thing and the other device controlling something completely different. No need for two devices doing the same thing.

I guess I should re-word, I'm looking for better trans control (shift quality) with the Quad. I should probably just use the SCT, that way I could have just the tranny program and or try your power and tranny programs. How's the fuel mileage with the SCT and do you have a money back guarantee?? (just asking!)
We can write a program either way. Mileage is usually in the 15-17 city, depending on how you drive and 19-21 on the highway. All of the programmers and modules do similar things and mileage is pretty even across the board. Give us a call and we can discuss the options.
