i see that alot of people have this. how reliable is it on the motor and tranny??? also, what kind of power does it make, and how do i go about gettin a SCT tuner from them with this tune???
Yes the SCT's come with 3 tunes. You can choose which 3 you want.
The extreme tune is about 150hp over stock. Can't remember the torque figures. I don't run the extreme, but so far, it seems like the guys who have, and run them very hard, have had great luck with them. The tranny control (firmer shifting, converter lockup, etc)really helps to keep the tranny together.
I'm running the street tune (around 100hp) and damn, trucks shouldn't do this and the extreme guys say that the street tune is just a toy compared to theres.

There is Xtreme Street, and Xtreme Race. The street file is good for every day driving, but be sensible with your right foot, if you like keeping your tires. The milaege is excellent if you stay out of it, and can tow 12k pounds just watch egt's in upper ranges, drops when it shifts. I got mine with Pilot Injection up to 1000 rpms, greatly reduces noice when I pull up to job sites. The Xtreme Race is like Edge on 8/8 with a shift kit, precise each and every time. Love this tune. So you can tell a difference between Street and Race tunes?
Yes, also shift points seem to be about 100-150 rpms higher at shifts. For some reason less smoke in this tune, but is faster by about 3-5 tenths, but you would have to ask ID to be exact. I also feel the 06 truck although is rated the same hp/tq as my 05 is quicker. Maybe cause Gm with their 360/660 came out.

The Race tune has firmer shifts, commands more fuel, more boost, and a couple other small changes. The less smoke is due to the added boost throughout.
The 05's and 06's are pretty much equal in power with our current programs.

The Superchips 1706 is an ok flasher for a general power tune. Power numbers are similar to our Economy/Tow/Street, but nowhere near the customizatiosn we do for power and trans.

I'd like to say yes, but it's really dependent on the type of terrain, altitude, etc. that you are towing. I have a lot of customers who tow 10k+ w/ no issues. We normally recommend just using a tow tune when towing heavy loads. Thx.

I tow a Donzi 26zf aprox 7500lbs with the street tune and had the egts go over 1100 under short burst of WOT. 750 is what I see most of the time at 70mph. I also tow a 20 Proline sport aprox 5000lbs with the street tune and 1000 is the highest the egts have gotten up to and that was on a incline passing some traffic at 80mph. most of the time the egts stay below 750 with the street tune. As long as you don't go hotrodding with a load you should be ok. Just keep a watch on your egts on the inclines. I live in MD and travel on mostly level highways.
One more thing. I was pulled over on rt 50 securing my boat to the trailer, the donzi and had to merge into 70 mph traffic from just about a dead stop with little merge area. Well 16000lbs smoked [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smokin.gif[/img] up to 70mph in no time, the looks on the cars I pulled in front of was priceless [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif[/img] [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif[/img].
