Smoke on start up

My truck seems to smoke alittle more when it,s cold since I put my SCT tuner in.It cleans up once it,s warm.It it anything to be concerned about. It still runs good and is not missing.Just sending it tommorrow to get the updated fuel regulator spring.I did give it a good glugle of Howes conditioner. Thanks

Mine does the exact same thing, a little white smoke for first 5 min when i first start it. I only notice it with a tune in... truck runs great though, ive heard bad injector would be cause of smoke, but if it runs fine i dont think to suspect a bad injector. My truck only has 22k miles on it and does this... i dunno? interested to hear replies.

I have almost 100k on mine and was hearing more turbo whine than normal, and while I was at dealer he was asking all kinds of questions about the turbo. One of them was if the truck smokes at idle or warm up. Said it could be turbo seal or something. Mine doesn't do this, just passing on info.

If it only does this tuned, it is probably the fueling in the tune.

Mine has been puffing blue smoke for about the first 15 seconds on cold starts in the morning. It was worse a few months ago when it was colder. The truck runs great otherwise but my warrantee is up in July and if something needs replacing I would sure like for Ford to pay for it.

Mine did the same thing. The turbo was going out. If you listen carefully the turbo should spool up at about the same time as your oil presure gauge shows presure after startup. After the smoking started I would have to wait or even rev the engine to get the turbo to start spinning. I have straight pipes so this is very easy to hear. I took the intake tube off and the vanes looked fine but there was the slightest resistance and it would spin to a stop pretty fast after spinning it by hand. Took it in and they jerked the turbo and the problem went away. My old man has had 3 turbos on his, each time smoking at startup and constant oil smoke after awhile.

Mine does the same thing occasionally on startup. It will have extended crank and then crack off with a cloud of white smoke. I think its overfueling cause it rev's up a bit on startup, i run the extreme street tune. It does not do this on stock tune...

It does right until it is warmed up.Not when it just starts up.Once its good and warm no more smoke. It will do it while it warms up and only when you take off from a start then it goes away. And no it not the head gaskets thay where just done and I keep a close eye on the degas bottle

im pretty sure a cloud of whiteish-blueish smoke can be cold unburnt diesel fuel. like how a black cloud is hot unburnt diesel fuel. my truck has been doing this when its cold since i got it tuned and deleted the dpf.
