Spearco Intercooler regrets?

I'm real close to pushing the left click button on one of these. I tow a toyhauler and am looking to keep my EGT's in check. From what I've read, by changing to an aftermarket intercooler people have reported dropping 100-150 degrees. I have a friend that has blown the sides off two OEM intercoolers towing a fifthwheel. I don't want to be stuck on the side of the road as he has and would like to drop the EGT's down a little.

My question to those that have changed to a Spearco (Banks or other), are you happy with the upgrade? Was it worth the money spent?

Re: Spearco Intercooler regrets?

I've never heard of anyone regretting anything from spearco. Good company. Get ahold of Bbunting. He can't drive a golf cart, but he has good stuff. Look into the spearco or the DIIC, but I wouldn't go Banks.

Re: Spearco Intercooler regrets?

DALPilot I have already emailed Brian numerous times with many questions and he has been very helpful. I pretty much have my mind made up, just hard to pull the trigger on a big ticket item like that. I went for the Fluidampr and I'm still on the fence on whether it was worth it for me. This is just a weekend vehicle for me, sits all week.

SGTCOOPER That's nice to hear a drop in EGT's towing, that's what I'm looking for. The studs were put in when gaskets were done just after blowing coolant going to Glamis over Thanksgiving. The work was done by a dealer near me in Irvine, Tuttle Click. PM me and I'll feel you in on who to speak with.

Thanks guys for your input.

Re: Spearco Intercooler regrets?

Yes they are a beautiful piece, I'm trying to figure out the color of the one IC tube that is included so I can get my "hot" side powdercoated the same. I might just get them both done in a ceramic finish. And the new elbow too! I hate polishing stuff.

Re: Spearco Intercooler regrets?

Thanks Brian, I couldn't bring up the picture with the IC pipe on your site. That almost looks like the ceramic coating color.
