Depends on how you define "best". From what I've read, the stock filter, filters better or as good than anything else. It might flow less than anything else too. Somebody had a flow bench analysis on here that showed the correllation between filtration and flow, they are tied together. The ones that flowed the best filtered less. From what I've read on here the stock filter is a dam& good filter when engine protection is your top priority.

Re: start the war..AFE vs airiad vs stock, what is best

Liked the airaid put stock back on Local dealer advised me to put stock on for warranty work any turbo problems or blown motor would not be warrantied.Aftermearket air filters allow stuff to pass through turbo which could shred fins i.e blown motor turbo probs supposedly. it has been two days lost 1.5 mpgs normal driving highway/city combined. Seems starved for air my oppinion.Much quiterdidnt realize how loud airraid makes your truck

If I were you I would add this to your poll. S&B in my opinion is with out a doubt the best on the market and you get it a lot cheaper than the rest. Here is the website.

Remove any filter from the intake at all, and make sure the pipes are 4" in dia. w/ smooth bends. If you want a high performace truck, why do you need a filter?

Otherwise, if you want the best protection for your turbo w/ more than adequate air flow, stick w/ the OEM filter.

Re: start the war..AFE vs airiad vs stock, what is best

I really like the afe stage 2 and the new one isn't too much from LIDP's site. It works great, give you a little more turbo noise, has a heat shield, and if you get a ram air hood it works with that also. I noted AFE for there stage 2. Pull the stock filter out and look at it then look at these http://www.longislandperformancedies...%20-%20Air.htm The stock one is like a foot think but it does work great but if you want an intake the afe is the way to go IMHO.
