you might lose a couple mpg's cuz you'll be getting on it so often at every stop light.

Re: straight piped 6.0

So, I have an MBRP cat-back on my 2007 6.0L. I want more whistle and more notice. The MBRP sounds good, but no whine and nobody really cares to hear it. I debated about the delete pipe for the muffler. Now, I want it. The problem is that I will destroy the exhaust piping as I will have to cut the muffler out because the clamps kink the pipe and muffler inlets/outlets in order to tighten them up enough to keep the system from working loose. So, what is the best way to go about removing the muffler? In addition, because I have to cut out the muffler, the inlet pipe and tailpipe will now be too short to accept the delete pipe - or the section cut out with the muffler will be too large to just insert the delete pipe. Where can I get some more 4 inch pipe with a flared end? The MBRP muffler is flared on the inlet and outlet, so after I cut it out, I will need some more "parts". Have any of you just turned the exhaust out just past the kitty? Will it destroy my rear wheels with soot? Thanks,

Smoke.

if you want more whistle you're gonna need a 4" dp assuming you leave the cat in. I would suggest cutting your 5 or 6 inch tip off, then welding it right after the cat pointed down or out to the side. simply deleting the muffler isn't gonna do too much. you have a few options with exhaust.
