superchip feedback

I'm looking at getting the superchip for my 04, I'd like to get some feedback as to how well it improves power vs fuel mileage on the diff settings. I like the idea of being able to tweak my 6.0 for econ. or power settings. I run down to USA to bring back trailers to Canada, so I'm looking at getting better fuel mileage and of course power. I'm not looking at doing any other mods while my truck is under warrenty. My dealer sells the superchip and recommends it.
Your comments would be appreciated!!!

Re: superchip feedback

If your dealer sells and recommends it, you're way ahead of the game.

I've got one and think it's great. If I were to run anything with no other modifications, it'd be a SC. Gauges are certainly recommended even stock and I can't imigine not having them, but SC would be the way I'd go if I didn't want to do anything else. I may not run the Econ or HP tune, at least very hard without seeing what's going on, but according to SC, you can without a problem. That and dealer support almost can't be beat!

Re: superchip feedback

Have you ever run it in the econ setting? How does it compare for mpg and performance? Thanks for the comments if you wouldn't mind, would it be poss. to get more feedback from you as you use the SC longer??
I spoke with a HD mech who works for International, he was telling me that Ford is very agressive in its factory settings for the 6.0 and even with that you can get awesome performance out of it with chips.

Re: superchip feedback

I have the Econ tune in now. MPG is hard to say yet but performance, seat of the pants, doesn't feel much different than HP. It smokes much less that HP that's for sure.

I'll be keeping it in Econ for a while including a road trip towing my boat in the next week or 2.

Re: superchip feedback

I have been using the economy (middle) setting for two months and have increased my mpg from 16.2 to 17.8 overall. Plenty of power at this setting and no smoke. The performance setting is really noticeable when you nail it to pass, but the smoke produced is incredible so i don't use it.

I've had mine now for a month. I ran it all the way to OR pulling the 5er in Economy setting. Ran EGT's around 800 to 850. Ran it all the way back in Tow Safe. Same EGT's. Total fuel mileage was 12.2. Ran around 69 mph.

I really like the SC and my dealer said he has used them all in his PS and likes the SC the best. Mine smokes like a coal train in Hi Performance. I don't mind it but the wife sure doesn't. Smokes a little in Economy and a little in Tow Safe if I get on it. It will get a little second gear scratch if I get on it even in Tow Safe mode. So far I haven't had the chance to check out solo mileage. I was getting 18.4 before I installed the SC. I now have it back in Economy so we'll see what happens. If I can keep my foot out of the Turbo.

Re: superchip feedback

I RUN IT ON THE TOP SETTING. SMOKES HORRIBLE AT FULL PEDLE TAKE OFF. I'VE HAD IT CHIPED FOR A WEEK AND HAVEN'T DRIVEN IT FOR FUEL ECONOMY YET, RACED A FEW TIME AND LEFT PLENTY OF TIRE ON THE ROAD, STILL GETTING ABOUT 15 IN THIS PLAYING TIME.
