tail pipe clearance

Tried posting on towing section with no luck.
Have stock exhaust for now but will be purchasing an MBRP turbo back shortly. My problem is this, I'm installing an under bed, fifth wheel hitch(reese 18k signature)and the rear rail is rubbing on the stock tail pipe where it goes over the axle. Will the new exhaust be able to rotate or be below the rail?
Thanks, John

Re: tail pipe clearance

I had the same problem with my gooseneck hitch and my stock exhaust. I had to take it back a couple times because it was pretty irritating! Nothing like a $40,000 can of marbles!

I don't know about your 5th wheel, but my gooseneck hitch doesn't touch my MBRP. Besides, since it's in sections, it's got some adjustment. The only tight spots are near the transmission crossmember and the spare tire.

i have the B&W gooseneck hitch and i had to make some adjustments to my MBRP dual exhaust set up... i had to take about 3" out of the middle of the driver's side arch pipe, and then about 4" off the end of the same pipe. once i got it back in the truck, i realized that i should have probably taken about 4" out of the middle to begin with.

Re: tail pipe clearance

I have the MBRP with the Reeses 18k signature, no problems rubbing! I am real tight with the firestone airbags (right against the heat shield) but seems ok for now. If anyone has modded the exhause for this let me know.
