thinking about straight piping aftermarket exhaust

i have an aftermarket exhaust on my truck right now... would just putting in a piece of 4" pipe where the muffler is make it sound a little better like more turbo noise or somethin? just curious...

yes... also, the shorter the pipe the louder it is. If you really want to make it loud, modify the kit so it exits in front of the back tire, or better yet right behind the front tire.

You might want to check the current laws and noise ordinances in your neck of the woods first though...

The straight pipe sounds cool, until you pull with it. Then it's too loud. Oh my gosh, did I just say what I thought I said? Pay no attention to me, I'm OLD I guess. Seriously the 6.0 sounds nice but can be too much on a long pull. Maybe you'd like it?? IDK Good luck

Straight piped will definitely be louder than with a muffler. I ran my truck with just a 4" downpipe for months, it gets old, and im 19!

what about turbo whistle? thats really what i'm lookin for, i know they changed the turbos for my year, so it won't ever sound like an '03 until i upgrade the turbo, but i'd still like to hear it a little.

I have a 4" turbo back system with a "REMOVED DUE TO RULES VIOLATION" and no muffler on my truck. I originally had a magnaflow muffler on there and when I took it off and the turbo whistle was much more noticeable. So yes, if you straight pipe it you will hear the turbo much more then you do now and when or if you tow it will be much louder inside and outside the cab.

Hope that helps. Do it!
