Ok this may be a stupid question, but what are the differences between tuners, programmers, modules and chips?
What are the advantages, disadvantages of each.
Looking for some more power, not crazy power just alittle more.
Thanks for the info. Skiya

Tuners and programmers are the same thing. They reprogram your truck's computer with a revised strategy to increase performance. Normally they will 2 to three different programs (power levels) available on the tuner at a time, but only one can be used at a time. The biggest advantages to them is the ability to make changes not only to your engine, but your transmission as well and in some cases, the ability to have the programs tailored to your specific wants/needs. The disadvantage is to change power levels, you need to stop, turn the truck off and go through the reprogramming process again.
Modules are plugged into the computer system and interrupt the signals between the computer and the engine. They too normally have 2 to 3 different power levels in them and to change from one to the other simply requires either hitting a button or flipping a switch and can be done on the fly. That instant changability is their biggest advantage. The downside to them is virtually no control of the transmission and a lack of customization.
Since we are discussing the 6.0, chips are irrelevant, since they cannot be used on one. However they are sort of like a combination of the two above. They are piggybacked onto the computer and override it with a custom made program plus they can be changed between programs on the fly. Unfortunately, this option is not available on 6.0s due to a change in the computer systems used on it.

I used to have a Predator that I got cheap, but it now needs the hardware upgrade for my 6.0. no way.
What I don't entirely understand is the difference between the bully dog power pup and the triple dog. Both nave nearly identical descriptions. Is it just that the triple dog works on the fly whereas the power pup is more like the predator or superchip?
