Tuner..Module/Programmer Options.

Hi. I just purchased my first Diesel,2005 Ford Excursion 6L Powerstroke, Love it. Not interested in spinning the wheels, just want to firm up the tranny-optimize motor-and get good mileage. A mix of Highway/City driving and light towing, 5000lb 16'tandem axle enclosed motorcycle trailer. Have looked at the
BANKS OttoMind and SixShooter, Sniper, Hypertech,Preditor,BullyDog,etc. All seem to do the job, with some differences in their approach. The setup is stock with the exception of an AFE Intake, and a MagnaFlow 4" exhaust. With all these choices, any input-experiences-opinions, will be appreciated.THANKS..Jim.FLORIDA

Re: Tuner..Module/Programmer Options.

I'd take a look at the SCT devices. With the SCT, we will program the ECM for better performance/milage and also program the trans for better shifting and longevity.

There are programs for performance, towing, and economy included. You choose the program for your particular application.

Give us a call, email, or PM with any specific questions.

Re: Tuner..Module/Programmer Options.

I second the SCT, and get it through Innovative... they know their stuff. I love my truck now, and I dont think I could drive a stocker again. Once you go SCT, you'll never go back, and you'll have fun laughing at the guys with Banks stickers on their trucks... knowing you got more for your money. A LOT more.

Re: Tuner..Module/Programmer Options.

SCT is an excellent choice. We can offer you free custom tunning when you purchase one from us. The stock program that are included work great but we take to a different level with the custom options.

You can reach us by mail, PM, Messenger IM and phone just about anytime.

Re: Tuner..Module/Programmer Options.

SCT from Innovative is the way to go. All of the tunes that Eric sent me work very well w/ my truck. I own a landscape construction company and I tow heavy loads everyday... The tow agg. tune works great with my truck.

Thumbs up Questions answered.

Hi guys. Thanks for all the input-I went with the SCT. Seems to be working good. I have only tried the STREET(economy) mode for now. It firmed up the tranny, with in increase in torque/power. Still need to play with the shift points to keep the RPM(fuel burn)down. Planning on pulling my trailer tomorrow, so I will give the two 2 modes a try. Thanks again...Jim in FLORIDA

skibud85

I recently purchased the same, an 05 Ex 6.0L, although its bone stock, and occasionly haul about the same weight trailer.

Am looking for the same sort of performance improvements as you stated in your initial post.

So how are you liking the SCT now?
Did you do any gauges or monitors?
When you mentioned tweaking the shift points, is that something the tuner does for you?

Thanks
