Turbo Timer device

I am looking for any info in a turbo timer device that I can install on my 05 6.0L so that my turbo can cool down without me sitting in the truck for 10 minutes before shutting it down. If there is such a thing can it be used in conjunction with a remote starter/security system

Re: Turbo Timer device

I know that there are some security systems that have turbo timer features on them, however I don't know which ones have it. If you plan on doing gauges, and if you do the Isspro's, then they have a turbo temp module that will work with the EGT gauge and monitor the EGT'S and shut the truck down at 300 degrees. This is probably the way I'm gonna go. Here is a link to the Isspro Turbo Temp module.

Re: Turbo Timer device

I'd look at the DEI Viper or Python line. They both have turbo timer enabled security systems. That's what we use on our trucks.

Re: Turbo Timer device

Haven't received this yet, but read a lot of good things about it. I have one on order.

Seem like it's a pretty easy thing to install and use. Installation and operating instructions can be downloaded from the above web site.

Greedy

I installed a Greedy Faat 2 in my truck and it will run anywhere from 10 sec. to 20 min. 4 wires not a big deal and it looks good cut into the dash where the mic should be- $85.

Re: Turbo Timer device

Sorry about the plug, but check out the BD Cool Down Timer. Its around a $100, and it simply plugs into your existing thermocouple. The unit actively monitors your EGTs at will shut the truck off at your adjustable temperature. No countdown timers (60 sec, 2 min), just pure accurate temperature.
