Angry Very Sick 6.0

I'm new to this forum and to the Powerstroke. I recently purchased an 05' 6.0 F350 FX4 with 70,000 miles. Initial test drive I was impressed with the perfomance and how well the truck had been taken care of. But a week later the horror began. While on a trip she starting losing power and eventually wouldn't take off from a dead stop. Had a Ford service tech run a check and it showed she needed a new EGR valve. Go that replaced and not 40 miles down the road it happened again. DO YOU THINK I"M PISSED OR WHAT? They brought me loaner and now have the truck at the dealer, kinda makes you wonder if they knew this all along. Anyway, what do you guys with all the experience think my problems are?

I think you have a bad turbo. Did it blow any black smoke? Dont worry. Im sure it will be fixed just fine. I certainly do understand your frustration. Be patient, let them fix it and you will soon love this truck.

Cool

I also thought that sounded like a turbo problem I used too work at an International Dealership in Detriot and we use too rebuilt (clean) those turbos like every day These trucks have a ton of power but if you dont use it very often it is actually bad for them the soot plugs up the vanes in the turbo making the actuator work harder until eventually it wears out so every once in a while drive it like you stole it

Mine had about the same mileage as yours, when I bought it two months ago. I took the turbo inlet tube off for grins and giggles one day. I found black sticky residue all over the inlet as well as the turbo vanes.

Lately, I've noticed that my truck is a total dog in the morning, after I start it. I usually let it warm up about five minutes, before leaving for work, but the truck feels like it bogs down when you accelerate. After a few seconds, it kicks in and goes. I'm starting to get a little black smoke too.

This truck was a one owner, and it has already had the motor and turbo replaced at 41,000 miles; the motor seized so they replaced it with a reman'd motor. The turbo grenaded a week after they replaced the motor.

I can't wait to put a Cummins in, after my warranty expires.

It most likely is the turbo, since the EGR often takes the turbo with it.

Cant believe it, got a check in the mail from the servicing dealer refunding my $100 deductable. Note said under 50k covered without deductable! I had 49K and change when the truck went in.

Since Jan. 1 2008 mine has been in the shop six time and every time they replace the EGR Valve. They have cleaned the turbo, replaced the EGR Cooler, warped heades blown head gaskets, and the intake tube for the turbo. Fixing to put it back in the shop next week FOR THE SAME BULLS!!T. Oh yeah they have also replase the Exhaust back pressure sencor. And the worst part of it is that the service writer keeps telling me that it is still to early in the process to get a Ford rep involed to settle this. I am VERY Frustered

I get the same thing with my truck... slow for the first 5 minutes warming up, then all ok after that. Do you know of any engine problems that would cause this? My warranty is up in 7k miles so it would be great to get anything fixed before I'm S.O.L. thanks!
