What Air Intake should I get...??

I am still running the stock air intake. I have heard allot of GREAT things about the stock system for being the best for filtering out dirt and still flowing 100%...

Are there any actual gains in HP with a K/N or other simular system?

yes,... you will see typical gains of 5 to 15hp and more turbo noise depending on the system that u choose. stock is restrictive and upgrading will improve mileage, turbo response, egt's, and torque.

if u are going to upgrade try to stick with a sealed intake system such as S&B. they work very well with keeping intake temps to a minimum, they flow well and they are iso certified.

That may be true on the 7.3 but the consensus here seems to be that with the system on the 6.0, stock is best. You won't see any significant gain until you are over 500 horsepower. If you still have warranty as well, keep it stock.

ISO - About ISO

They have standard test for the aftermarket filter companies to compare their filters. All though I am sure each one is bias, I went with the S&B intake partly from their testing and the rest on their guarantee with their product. I am happy with it and its was one of the least expensive. Check out their web site for more info.

S&B is the best bang for the buck intake on the market. I suggest going this route.

S&B Cold Air Intake Kit 03-07 6.0L Power Stroke | Air Intake | 03-07 6.0L Power Stroke | Ford Power Stroke | Diesel Power | Performance Truck Products

the powe you will see with a intake is in the 3400+ rpm area. the trucks is designed to operate up to 3300 rpm. so basically unless you plan to run high rpms you will see no real gains. with a stock truck runing a tuner and exaust there are alot of better places to spend the money than on the cold air kit.

S&B intakes will only hold 14% of the amount of dust/dirt an OEM filter can hold. So you will be doing MORE maintanence in the long run.

Trust me, spend your money else where. I have the s&b and I wish I didnt. I didnt notice one gain anywhere (mpgs or power) its pointless, so please believe the schmuck who actually bought all the advertising bs. Save the money for diesel or bed toys.
