Little plug next to the fuel filter and what is does is sends exhaust back in the intake. Think of running a marathon, putting a garden hose up your butt, than when you are needing fresh air badly, put the other end of the hose in your mouth. Yuk!!! Well how good do you think that would be for your performance? Dirty exhaust does not really do a lot of good for your engine. Unplugging it may set a code.

how do I take the hose out of my trucks a** and would the code be a dash light or just somthing I dont have to worry about unless I take it to a dealer.does it help hp.

just unpluged EGR and took it for a drive. I dont feel any diffrence in power.Is that just somthing ford puts on for emission or somthing.

It is definitely for emission purposes. And it will set a code if you unplug it. Some guys have bought a spare and plugged it in instead and just wire tied it out of the way so the computer still thinks it is hooked up. It (the factory ECR valve along with the related exhaust gas pressure sensor) has been source of a lot of problems. The ECR valve is famous for sticking and the exhaust gas pressure sensor is knows to fail - at about 10,000 mile intervals. This is straight from the Ford mechanic. Ford is working on new designs for the pressure sensor.

2004 F350 XLT CC 6.0L 3.73LS 01/14/2004 engine build TorqShift - 16k miles with one incident of burned battery cables; reflash required; and one egr/ebp sensor problem so far; and now acting up again for same egr/ebr sensor issue
the biggest problem with egr is, in conjunction with crankcase vent, they make a nice combination of diesel soot and oil droplets which cake up on the intake and eventually clog it.
