The 6.2 isn't a bad engine, good for a light duty truck or large car.
I would think it would respond better to biodiesel than WVO since the lift pumps on those IDI engines can't handle really viscous fuels.
That's just an estimate based on my experience with the Navistar 6.9, they're very similar to the 6.2 in some ways.
The 6.2 uses a timing chain rather than gears like the 6.9 to rotate the cam shaft and sometimes on high mileage 6.2s that chain can break really screwing up the engine.
The 6.2 is NOT a derivative of the garbage 5.7. The 6.2 was designed as a diesel from the ground up. Many of the early HMMMVs had 6.2s in them. They aren't rocketships but they will get the job done.
