Re: 2 stroke

Most likely the same. Once BIO-D is created, it has virtually identical traits as regular Diesel.

Heck, the 2-stroke might even run better!!

Re: 2 stroke

There was an article a couple of years or so ago in a maritime trade magazine (I saw the article in a lounge at a tugboat company I used to work at) about a catamaran ferry in the San Francisco Bay that they tested biodiesel in. The boat was powered by two 12V-71 Detroit 2 strokes, and there weren't any issues. I seem to recall the fuel consumption being slightly worse, but the boat ran cleaner and I believe that, on the post-test inspection teardown, the insides of the engines were cleaner than they were on the pre-test inspection teardown.

I would imagine that there have been more recent testing, but I haven't seen anything...I'm sure someone else has, though.

Re: 2 stroke

Thats what i was thinking too. It seems to me, that some of the disadvantages a two stroke normally has, wear and tear on the engine, and pollution have could be solved by bio-diesel.
how about a 2 cylinder, 2 stroke, diesel single commuter vehicle?
Anywhere one could by a 2 stroke diesel engines?
I know can google, but i'm here and thought i would ask anyway.
