Thanks for the links SunWizard! Just what I was looking for. Do you know the difference between the "Diesel" and "Bio Fuels" filter? The kit page does not say the micron level of the filter it comes with. Thanks again.

Are they familiar w/the PSD? I'd be terrified of an installer used to converting $3k MBZ's...
The biggest difference (everything is different) is the fuel pressure on PSD is MUCH higher. The V3 is sweet, you'll agree as soon as you pick it up off the table...

They have had experiance with the PSD, specificly with Vegistroke just not the V3. I have heard a couple of things about them, nothing bad and some of the other installers (who only install their propriatery kits) recomended them.

Well, I guess if the 'competition' recommended them.... hehehehehe, They should be fine!
I wish I hadn't been 'invetsigating' DP -Tunes for as long as I did! I dunno how I lived w/o them. It is like I got a new truck that day. If you have gauges (at least pyro) and don't tow much, at least get an 80e PCM flash. You won't be dissapointed.
With a VO conversion, I'd have at least a Fuel Press gauge and a Temp Gauge for VO before the heads. A pyro and boost gauge just finish filling up an A pillar pod perfectly.

I found out about a guy in Redding Ca at Roverhybrids.com, seems he is in the process of becoming an official DFA installer. At $400 bucks cheaper than my current installer guy (who claims PSD experiance) this guy has PSD conversions on his website, I think it might be worth the 3hr trip up to Redding... I finished (sort of) the gauge piller install today... Found out that my autometer trans temp gauge did not come with a sending unit (only after I started the install). Here is a question for you Excursion 7.3l people out there: I installed my boost gauge today (had to drill and tap) just after the turbo, on the y-pipe heading to the intercooler (passenger side of the "y"). I thought I had done something wrong, as when I started the truck--- nothing happened! (truck started, but no gauge reading). Not having time to mess with it, I left to run my errands... I found out that @ 2000 rpm I am getting about 5psi boost. This has to be wrong...right? My turbo sounds fine, I get the power I am supposed to get(?), did I do something wrong with the gauge install? I checked and doublechecked, no kinks, leaks, or anything else that would cause this to go funny. Now when I steped on it, it went all the way to 25psi...just for a second. I have the TM wastegate controller, just haven't installed it yet. Whats up with this?

You can get the temp sender at auto parts - about $10-12.
I spliced into the boost sensor hose and later used that splice to install the 'boost fooler' and used it for gauge tap.
5psi rolling down the road is normal and seeing a spike while yer in the throttle is normal. 25 psi is healthy for a slightly modded truck. Stockers usually only hit 16-17 psi......

When I get my TM installed will this change the boost I see? I.E. instead of 5psi rolling down the road will it go higher? Or does the boost I see go up with more fuel (like a chip install or something)? As far as the Trans temp sending unit, I am a MORON... I didn't look hard enough at what I thought were just fitting adapters, sure enough the sending unit was right there... So now I have to pull the pillar off and run wires for this gauge... shouldn't be too hard. I have another thread talking about the TM install and someone said that NAPA should have "push clips" to use instead of the "e" clip that comes with the TM wastegate controller anyone know anything about this? Supposedly they are so much easier to install than the "e" clip, and you don't have to remove the turbo... Thanks for your help.

Got the V3 in today!! I also talked with the installer, and he said he could get me in next week. Hopefully I will be burning grease by the beginning of next month! On a side note... I got my gauges installed and my Trans Temp gauge does not work. I double checked my power sources and grounds, and everything is as it should be but I still get no reading on the gauge. Is this because the trans just isn't getting hot enough to register? I would think it would get 100* easy with daily driving... anyone got any ideas?

my v3 should be here anyday. My tank will be done on wed. I am running it in an 01 excursion also. I got a mercedes 300d a year ago to get ready for the excursion. I used sunwizards plans for the centrifuge and figured out where to get enough oil to run in the excursion. Its been along time coming. I hope my v3 comes tomorrow.
This will be my first vegi vehicle, but I have been reading up on this for a couple of years now. Are you doing the install yourself or having it done? Are you getting an underbelly tank, or is it going to sit in the back? What is the capicity of your tank? Thanks.

I will be installing it myself. My tank is an underbelly on the drivers side next to the frame rail and the drive shaft, starting just behind the transfer case. Its 5 feet long 12 inches wide and 10 inches deep. It has two notchouts for the crossmemembers and the fuel lines that go around the forward crossmember. it has three baffles and a drain on the bottom. I used 5/8 aluminum tubing running the length and back on the bottom for the coolant tube. It has a 1 1/4 fill with a vent and 3/8 fuel in and out with a vertical marine sender. That should be around 30 gallons. I got the dual fill kit from golden fuel systems. My tank should be finished tomorrow. where are you filling your tank from? where did you get your tank? I looked all over before I decided to have mine built custom.
I also have the dual fill from GFS (those assholes made me feel special for selling it to me!) what did you pay for the filler? A tank fabricator named Brian Ghast (Oakland CA) is making my tank for me, it (I don't recall the dimensions) it will mount aft of the transfer case (about 8" i think) and run next to the drive shaft in the center of the truck. Capicity is 25gal, he is constructing the HE as a drop in with the fuel pickup and sender. Mine also will have a drain plug on it. When it is complete (should be monday) I will take photos and post them.

After shipping the dual filler was around 100 bucks. I was going tomorrow to pic up my tank when they called be and told me the heat exchange tube sprung a leak and they have to build a new tank. Did your filler from gfs come with any info or instructions. Mine was a small box the 4 npt thread to 1 inch hose barb and nothing else. My v3 shipped yesterday or the day before so I will install it this weekend and next week while I wait for the tank.
that sucks about your tank! Yeah I paid $95 for mine too. I was just wondering if they pulled a number out of their arse and charged me. No instructions, the damn thing looked like someone had just slapped it together with about $15 worth of material... Not at all like the clean picture they have on the website. Good luck with the install, post pics when your done please.
