Will the 2006 6.0 run good on Bio?
I bought B-100 from world energy thru a local oil distributor and treated it with power services anti gel, disel kleen, and then cut it to B-50 for above 32F operations. Went 32 miles and lost an injector due to coking. Ford replaced the injector under warranty and sent me on my way. I drained my rear tank of the B-50 and mixed a new batch of B-10 and made it 45 miles, this time I had a loss of power and lost one injector. I switched back to regular diesel and she snaped out of it. I added some 911 to my rear tank and then switched back to the biofuel tank and obtained the same results.
Removal and inspection of the fuel filters showed a stiff foamy substance? We completely drained my bio tank and the fuel looked ok to the eye after sitting for an hour. All of this work was performed in a heated garage by Ford. I was told to take some of my B-10 and fill a one quart jar 3/4 full and then add 1/4 water, shake and see if the water settled out to test for bad biofuel. Test results- the water settled out very quickly however a 1/4" layer of that thick foamy stuff showed up between the water and the fuel. This foamy substance seems to be causing my injector coking and fuel filter issues. What is it? I have been told that this Bio may be Bad?
I have since returned the fuel and traded for regular diesel.
Any help would be great!!

Something about this post doesn't make a lot of sense. "mixed a new batch of B-10 and made it 45 miles, this time I had a loss of power and lost one injector. I switched back to regular diesel and she snaped out of it. I added some 911 to my rear tank and then switched back to the biofuel tank and obtained the same results."
So you're saying you lost another injector(?)(you already had one replaced by ford) but it fixed itself after going back to reg diesel? Or was it replaced by Ford again? Then you lost ANOTHER one? and it either fixed itself or was replaced by Ford?
If FMC knew you were burning B50 the would have denied your warrenty most likely...
If this is for real and you bought this fuel via an authorized dealer you should be going taking this guy to the cleaners for selling crap.

Sounds like your fuel is not washed...or an incomplete reaction occured.
Ide get in touch with the seller of the bad fuel, and dont let go.
Is the fuel clear at room temp? It should be clear down into the 50's at least.
Take some BD in a clear container, and gently pour water into the fuel. Shake very gently, and see what the water on the bottom looks like. It should be clear.
The above are tests to do on your next batch (if you ever do buy again).
The fuel you have now is BAD. Do not use any more of it. Send it back and get a full refund. You may also want to raise cain because their fuel did not do any of your injection system a favor.
Sellers like that should have their licenses yanked.
Sorry for your bad experience, thats why I advocate testing the fuel before you add it into the tank.
Our local ford dealer has been very good about this, and they are very interested in tring to help. To better clarify, We only had to replace one bad injector. The bio fuel at 55 degrees was a light brown color and was produced by World Energy, at least that is what I was told by the local oil company. When mixed with water as you describe it seperated very quickly however there was that 1/4" layer of thick foamy stuff between the water and fuel in a one quart jar. My asumption is that some of the water mixed with some portion of the bio to cause this and this foamy substance was the source of my Issues. Some where along the line I must have purchased some fuel with water in it! I agree with all of you and I also believe the fuel was some how bad. I have returned it and traded for regular diesel for the short term till I can sort this out. The bottom line is I could not get that fuel to run at any level of mix to as low as B-10 without a loss of power and rough running engine. The truck oly has 3k on it.
I wish I had your Ford Dealer. The ones around here seem to look for any reason to put the blame on the owner. Maybe some 6.0 owners will chime in here but I recall reading several 6l guys running biod without any problems. I make my own & it's normally usable right down 35-40 or so. Any colder and I cut with reg diesel. But this stuff you have sounds like the producer lost quality control somewhere.
Make your own.....good stuff if done right.
Sorry about the questioning post before but something didn't sound right with your injector issue. Again...we need more dealers like yours to help out instead of making this issue more difficult. Good luck with the biod...

Got a 2006 F250 6.0 ..Just hitting 2K miles on bio...running B100, home brewed....Not a single problem thus far.....power the same, gas mileage the same. Definately worth you making your own for better quality control.
