2nd tank on OBS trucks to run WVO

My '97 has two separate fuel tanks and the driver can toggle between the two. Has anyone converted the smaller (rear) tank to handle wvo? I'm thinking that it couldn't be too difficult (add a heater and a smaller filter?) but was hoping someone else had done it.

It can be done, but its not done that way typically because you will also have to change the plumbing of your return lines so you are not dumping WVO into the dino oil, or vise versa, also, most guys that I've seen do the home brew kits will leave the complete stock fuel system and do almost an overlay of the WVO system incase something happens they have a complete fuel circut that works.

With that said, I will be adding an auxillary tank plumed into my front tank to run my blend (WMO/ATF/Bio) and leave the rear tank for straight #2 or B100. Then change my return line with a selector valve much like the stock tank switching valve. So that I don't dump my blend in the the straight fuel tank. I am also swithching over to a SuperDuty electric pump for the entire system.

But I have not put my plans to application yet, so I may be telling you wrong, or change my design before its finished

Justin
