93 7.3 idi turbo conversion

I am converting to wvo and would like to find someone to share in detail their system so I can do it right the first time. I am going to use a racor 500 filter for wvo and stock for diesel, HOH for the fuel line, twin electric pumps(getting rid of mechanical pump) 3 way valve after stock filter and 3 way for return line that recirculates wvo through the IP and diesel back to tank. I am probably going to use a heater core to heat the tank. Questions are, which coolant line do I break into, the one coming off the passenger side of the block that tees into the radiator or the one that comes off the water pump and should I need an aux water pump for better flow back to the tank. Next, can I just remove the return line to the filter so fuel doesn't go back there and just tee it to the rest of the return lines. And lastly I have heard of people using glow plugs in fuel lines for heating, has anyone used one in the racor turbine series filters. There is a port hext to the fuel outlet that could have one with the aid of a reducer screwed in. Would a relay need to be used or can it run continuously. I think that is all the questions for now... I stress for now. thanks for the help.

Re: 93 7.3 idi turbo conversion

I have had my truck running for a year about 10k miles. If you want you can email me your phone number and I can call you I have one rate call any were service so it will not cost me any thing.Atleast I think it will work to Alaska.I attached links to some pics also.I came off the drivers head added tees to retain over heat sensor and added electric gauge.I increased return at pump to 3/4 from 5/8 used 5/8 to 3/4 increaser on heater hose then a tee to water pump. This way cab heater gets heat from one head and veggi system gets heat from the other. No need for aux pump.I put a link to Beru site they make glow plugs they have on made for heating water should work for oil? You di dnot say what kind of tank you were using put a link to a heat exchanger looks like the on that Frybrid uses .You do not want rubber line in your tank at least not heater hose veggi will most likley eat it.A heater core would not transfer enough heat too fine of fins I have 24 ft of 1/2 copper in my 90 gal tank will get to 160 deg in about 1/2hr to 1 hr depending on what temp it starts at and how much is in tank. You also should consider HIH in your temps.Or a heat exchanger at the engine.I made this heat exchanger for a 240D Mercedes

Re: 93 7.3 idi turbo conversion

Thanks for the info. What kind of fuel line is that? It looks kinda rigged and tough. That is what I am looking for. I am looking at using 5/8" aluminum tubing for the coolant and making a spiral exchanger like the link you sent for the water heater. BTW, I sent an email to you for my number. Not sure if you got it though. Mine is ford4x4lover@msn.com. Thanks again.
