Is this any use to me?

I work for a town that used to do there own water plant well it shut down and they have some that maybe some use to me.

Its a plastic barrel maybe 25 gallon but its got a stirrer at the bottom. Looks like it could handle the heat for making the bio but did not know if a mixer would be nice or not

Re: Is this any use to me?

Hmmm... plastic drum with a mixer on the bottom? Sounds like a batch dilution tank. If it is HPDE, it will take a fair amount of heat. I've used regular poly drums up to at least 150 degrees. Most suction hoses, on the other hand, get really soft and fail at about 135.

Be sure to clean out any residue before leaving the site. They will be getting rid of a lot of trash. You don't want to get stuck with a bunch of 'unknown' solid waste.

Hey... I own a chemical company and am always up for a new vessel. Just last week I picked up a couple of stainless steel mix tanks from a photofinisher. They are on casters and have a pump for mixing and dispensing. Since being offered these tanks, I've come up with more than two applications. Ah... a device in need of an application!

Re: Is this any use to me?

Is there any way to find out what this mix tank was used for? There's a good chance it was built to handle chemicals.

Otherwise, its time to break into it and check for o-ring materials. Go with viton replacements. Loook for any other Buna-N.
