Anyone around Raleigh/ Durham NC

I want to get into making and using biodiesel and was wondering if there is anyone around Durham, or raleigh that makes biodiesel and runs it. I was wondering if they would let me come and see first hand how its made, what it looks like, etc... I just want to be sure of things before i spend the money to get into it, and not have to worry too much about screwing up my stuff. Thanks in advance.

Re: Anyone around Raleigh/ Durham NC

Boy are you in the right state for that!

Every Sunday, Piedmont Biofuels runs 'refinery tours' (the 'refinery' in that case is a really nice homebrew setup- they also have a commercial plant but don't do tours of that one) in Pittsboro, very near you. There are a ton of NC homebrewers- I think it's the most active state for biodiesel activity in general.

Re: Anyone around Raleigh/ Durham NC

Girl mark has it right.

I dont make it but i run it.

In durham, Bull city biofuels sells B100 for $3.50 gal, and filtered dewatered WVO for $1.00 gal.
