anyone else trying WVO conversion on a van?

My work van is an extended wb model and has the rear overhand....
pull a trailer too so :

adding the wvo tank aft/axle is the only practical way to go, even though it puts more weight aft of axle pulling the trailer..I will have a 35 gal tank...relocating spare tire to inside ..

My Questions are about locating the manifold assy...you truck guys can get to the filter housing and lines pretty easily...the only easily assessable place is to remove the dogbox and expose the rear of the engine and I am thinking about locating the man assy on top of the transmission, and putting my return regulator back there too, fuel rails are easy there...

one problem I will have is tapping into the fuel lines from the stock fuel system the way it's located in the van chassis... there is so little room...

I am chasing a rabbit here...I have another stock filter housing and I was thinking about fabing fuel lines and attaching everything (check valves, T fittings) BEFORE removing anything ...then I could pull the turbo and remove the entire stock setup, steel lines, fuel housing, and all I would have to do is take my other fuel housing w/new lines, T'd with the check valves etc attached and just have the 2 mounting bolts that go thru the HPOP...that way the only hard to get too area would be the fuel line to the front head driver side.

I am getting closer to my conversion...but you guys keep finding better ways to do things and I have to keep changing my plans...

Think my idea is workable...I had read here of using 1/4" ID fuel line...Is this regular diesel fuel line or should I go with something else...What Type??

thanks bill

I don't have any experience with the van chassis, but I think your approach seems sound. I definitely recommend at least test assembling as much as you can before tearing into it. It seemed every time I test assembled my stuff, I would find at least one more fitting I would need, but didn't have yet.

Isn't that the truth!? I was having the same problem, far exceeding my original budget, until finally I said, I just need to install what I have and add improvements down the road once I recoup some of my money back.

I just bought a '88 E-250 Clubwagon, 7.3L IDI, and am hoping to convert. I have the factory dual tanks, so think I have to get a custom tank built to fit under the benchseat/bed in the back. I would love to talk to anyone who has placed the tank inside in this fashion.

Any suggestions or pictures would be so helpful.
Thanks!
