LOL all the hot air you'll find in some of these posts will do it! j/k... There are plans for a waste oil burner on the net, I'd do that for a shop setting. A home oil furnace will run it with almost no mods. I wonder if a frestanding self contained keroseen heater will run on it?

that is what i want to know i saw somewhere something about it but not sure? it has a higher flash point, and less toxic fumes right? so what would be the problems with a self contained keroseen heater?
I'll take a few weeks, but I bet i can get my neighbor to let me try it. He has to clean his nozzles all the time anyway (lord knows why)., But I gotta make some up to test it....
its one of those bazillion btu jet fighter engin style shop heaters.

Dwight,
Of course, you'll be mindful of the CO levels, especially in an enclosed room, right???

h2odrx I have done some re-search for you on Ebay. Click HERE and you'll find what you're looking for! - CHEAP!
They ALL work with BIO diesel! Especially the ones with a built in blower will turn your WHOLE HOUSE into a sauna! Always make sure you have enough FRESH AIR coming in or you will be dead VERY QUICK!
thanks for the info, my hut down here on the beach get plenty of fresh air that is why i was try to use bio to warm it up. don't think i'll have to worry about death! lol thanks again!!!!
Is anyone actually using biodiesel in a wick type kerosene heater? I don't have the torpedo heater which I expect will burn bio, I have the radiant type. I'd like to heat my shop with it.

John I read (and saw pictures) in one of the Bio Diesel forums about somebody using a wick-heater with B100. He also wrote there was no smell being generated while burning it! Amazing.
If I remember correctly carbon monoxide is odorless. For 20$ you can buy a CO detector that just plugs in to 110v outlet, that and a working smoke detector is a prudent thing to do, especially if others are living there. Of course you could always get yourself a canary for company, like the coal miners used to do... I believe the symptoms of CO poisoning include headaches, dizziness, joint pain... check this out http://www.epa.gov/iaq/pubs/coftsht.html
On the brighter side, when I bought my first sample of Biodiesel, Soy Gold, it was made of virgin soybean oil, pretty expensive about 40$ for 8gals from Nebraska to California. It burns really clean, probably because it's really pure. Your bio may not burn as clean, but it's your call, seems like more research would be wise..
Good luck
Mike
p.s. I just remembered, back when I bought the Soy Gold (100%)it was available at some boat harbors as the fuel of choice for the space heaters the boaters were using.. Check their site http://www.soygold.com/

I sure wish you could remember where that was!

I am going to try finding the place I saw it @.
Another thing I remember the person writing about was the heater he is using has a 'sock wick' in it. It looked like a sock where the tip was cut off and the then open end was kinda 'mushroomed' out in a circle.
