Anyone in Moscow/Spokane/Lewiston area need grease?

I am running into a capacity problem... my restaurant is actually pumping out close to 50 gallons of grease a WEEK.

I currently have about 200+ gallons that I need to get rid of... or else I will be forced to purchase yet ANOTHER tote to store this stuff.

I guess "capacity" isn't my problem... it's the "collection/consumption" ratio.

If anyone is interested in picking up some free filtered/dewatered grease, PM me.

I'm the recipient of oil from a biodieseler who has no room because his processor is down and his restaurant is very busy. He even delivers it in a super sucker. Canola to boot! Wish you were closer because I have plenty of room.

Well, I have been looking for another BioDiesel/WVO person in the area that I could team up with, and help me collect in exchange for the "proceeds".

(Don't want to use the word "coop").

That would loosen up my collection schedule, assist me on the consumption rate... etc etc.

Sure, I COULD start making plans to store more... but if I show up with a Back-Hoe and start digging out a pit for a 15,000 gallon underground storage tank... that would probably push one of my nosy neighbors over the edge.

Let's not get crazy about this storage problem.

Ok I just checked. Its a 150 gallon round trip from Seattle in my pig, and a loooong day. I wish ya were closer...

Can I call ya in a few weeks if I go home or come back that way? If yer still overstocked I'll bring enough capacity to draw ya down to where you want to be!

It's a shame I don't live in Lewiston any more. I'd be able to take that oil off your hands in quick order. My folks still live there, too bad I couldn't get them on to the biodiesel bandwagon.

I'm surprised that one of your neighbors in Moscow would have a problem with biodiesel. UI was and still is a major research center for biodiesel fuels. Second, I always took the population in Moscow to be a bunch of granola/hippies anyway who I would think would be jumping at the opportunity provided by alternative fuels.

Unless you've got the right-winger survivalist that seems to entrench themselves in Idaho for some reason.

At the rate I am going, I think I will always be overstocked. PM me anytime.

No, I should re-state that. I don't think any of my neighbors have a problem with BioDiesel... but I think that starting down the path of burying an underground tank in my backyard would raise more than a few eyebrows.... and probably take me down a path of permits and inspections that, frankly, I just don't have the heart for.

I fully understand now. I would be leery of putting an underground tank in my backyard as well, however, have you considered just using a shed with a storage tank inside to conceal it's location?

A great many of towns in Idaho are pretty lenient when it comes to code enforcement. You could just put in an empty plastic septic tank and use that for WVO storage.

Oh... in another week I am going to be forced to go out and find myself another water tote to store some more.

And I have the space to house another 2 water totes or so, though it would make parking my other toy (my M3) much more tight.

But going down this path is just a "band-aid on a shotgun wound". My core problem is "rate of consumption", not "space".

Sure, I could find a way to store this stuff... but then it begs the question:

"What do you do when your 10,000 grease storage tank is full?"

(I know... I know... everyone should be having these problems, right?)

Heck, I should drive to your neck of the woods on my vegoil and use yours for the return trip. Haven't been up north in a long time. Last time I was in Idaho was 1974. It would be a good road trip later this season.

Still planning on your trip to SoCal with your trailer?

(We even have a guest room for you if you want to make the trip).

Trip to SoCal is 50/50 at this point. Original reason for the trip down there was because of a notice we got in the mail that our Weekend Warrior (toyhauler trailer) was under recall.

Since then, I have contacted the company and found that OUR particular trailer is NOT under recall... we only got the notice because we were a "WW customer".

Sooo... we were happy and disappointed at the same time. (Happy that our trailer wasn't part of the recall... but sad that we didn't have a driving need to get down there and enjoy SoCal as a result).

(How much advance notice do you need?)

If your trip is on and you'll need oil, depending on how much you'll need will determine how much lead time I'll need. I only de-water 55 gallons at a time and each drum takes a few days.
