Re: Anyone tried this "diesel secret energy" additive instead of making biodiesel?
Diesel Secret is a scam nothing more. If you do decide to try it consider going to biodiesel.community.org and see some of the testimonials of those who have used it and the repair bills they had to face.

Sorry, I think Specnaz means 'biodiesel.infopop.cc . One of the most recent posts in one of the Diesel Secretion sticky threads is someone who really destroyed an engine (of an 06 something or another) in the process.
He must be tired tonight...

Re: Anyone tried this "diesel secret energy" additive instead of making biodiesel?
Total scam. Problem is, too many people believe that the only problem with running WVO is the viscosity. but that is simply not the case. Viscosity is only a part of the complete equation. Coking being another, corrosive affects from contaminants such as water and sodium hydroxide another, and polymerization yet another. In my somewhat limited testing, some of the current diesel additives actually serve to decrease WVO stability and cause it to polymerize easier and more aggressively which will foul out a lot of stuff real quick.
If you are going to mix stuff with WVO to thin it, stick with diesel derived products, and keep it modest. such as Kerosene, and not more than about 75/25 diesel/WVO to play it safe. Biofuels (SVO or Bio) are a great source of cheaper fuel, but is not cheap or easy to get started into. The cheaper you do it, the more likely you will have problems. Unfortunate truth of the matter is, Takes money to make money. And this is no exception.

Yes I am/was, just got back in from the UK last night after a 15 hour trip on subway trains, railway cars, jet airliners and finally a taxi home.
Thanks for catching that small error

Re: Anyone tried this "diesel secret energy" additive instead of making biodiesel?
Like they say, if it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is.
I use the stuff. This is my second summer season using it. This process doesn’t work well in cold weather. I put on 25-30,000 miles a year, but only use blended WVO from May through October.
In reading other posts here and on other forums, I probably will discontinue using the magic elixir when my supply runs out and just make my blend without it.
As far as the costly repairs that I will have using this method, I’m still waiting. I did have to replace my IP at the end of my first season using blended WVO. But there was 198,000 miles on it. I also had to replace my radiator, clutch and have my tranny rebuilt last fall too, but I don’t think the blended WVO caused that,
The DSE magic elixir probably is a scam, but like was said before, at least it got some of us started down the alterative fuels road. And with time, who knows, I might even cross over to the biodiesel side someday.
